Totally New Plants

Dear Reader,

I’m so excited about the OFA Short Course and trade show we are attending that I decided to write about the 29 new plants we’ll be featuring.  We will also be unveiling our new logo and seven new lines of plants for all to see.

I’m even trying some new marketing tactics (ploys) to get people to our website.  Each one of our plant label signs in the booth will have a QR or Quick Response code, something like this.

When anyone with aPlants Nouveau QR Code smart phone comes into the booth or the visits the New Varieties area, they can scan the code on the label and be taken directly to that plant’s web page.  We are tracking all of the pages with our analytics programs to see just how many people play along. After this show, we will be able to see just how effective this new tool is.

It’s so exciting.  I know, I’m a marketing geek. I can’t help it.

The trouble is… we have so many new plants to feature and promote that I really can’t talk about all of them in one e-letter.  So instead let’s “cut to the chase.” Here is your link to our new e-release discussing Plants Nouveau’s 29 New Introductions at the OFA Short Course this weekend!

E-release?

Yeah, a new electronic press release that is loaded with click-able links to all of the plants mentioned.  No more Word documents and CDs/ USB drives or down-loadable images.  We’re all about being sustainable and not wasting a thing.  That’s how we roll…

Linda Guy and I would love to see you, so if you are going to the Short Course, please stop by booth #2232 – right across from Ecke Ranch and let us know how it’s going and what you think.

Also come and get your Garden Candy – literally.  We have lollipops for everyone to celebrate our new line.  It will be a plant-abulous good time.

As always, if you need images or more information, email me and I’ll get right back to you.  If you can’t make it to this show, we hope to see you in Indianapolis at the Garden Writers Symposium.

Happy Weeding,

Angela

Hydrangea macropylla 'Hokomathyst' Everlasting Amethyst.P.S. Want a sneak peak? How about this new hydrangea, part of the Everlasting Series of hydrangea?

We proudly present to you Hydrangea macropylla ‘Hokomathyst’ Everlasting Amethyst.

From the meticulous breeding of Kolster BV in The Netherlands, we bring you this new series of hardy hydrangeas that are as comfortable in the garden as they are in a vase or as a gift on your holiday table.

Everlasting Amethyst is a brand new selection with amazing potential for the gift, the garden and the cut flower industry. Sturdy, mop head blooms held high on thick, upright stems emerge bright, fuchsia pink, aging to a reddish pink with lime green markings, often fade to a blue-green combination and then to lime green.

That’s a whole heck of a lot of colors for one hydrangea. This parade of colors means the blooms last and last and last. As the colors change, they remain strong and sturdy as a cut flower. You’ll want this beautiful new selection in your garden for viewing, on your table as a centerpiece and for cutting year after year.
