Whitelist The Weeding Gnome

The Weeding Gnome

The Weeding Gnome

We all know that spam is a big problem, and our e-mail providers are working hard to keep it out of our inboxes. A lot of us even add spam blocker software on top of what our e-mail provider does…

…and most of us have had e-mail that we really wanted stuffed into the spam folder by mistake.

It’s annoying when this happens, and you don’t want it to happen to your The Weeding Gnome. Here’s what you can do about it: whitelist the people you really want to hear from. Do it right from the start of your subscription, before there’s a problem and you miss an issue.

However, every e-mail provider and every type of spam blocker has a different system. We’ve collected instructions for several of the most popular ones here. To find yours, scroll down (the list is in alphabetical order).

If what you’re using isn’t listed here, you’ll have to try contacting your customer service folks for instructions. (One thing you can try no matter what you’re using is to add our From address to your Address Book or Contacts list.)

If you haven’t received an email from us yet, you can use the address Angela@Plantsnouveau.com for all whitelisting needs.

* Further down, find where it says Move the message to. At the pull-down menu there, select Inbox.

* Click Add Filter again.

Others

Plenty of e-mail programs, including older versions of Outlook, Eudora, and Netscape Mail, don’t include any way of whitelisting an address or sender. If you’re using one of these and you want to make sure you get your The Weeding Gnome, you can’t whitelist us, but you can still do something about it.

First of all, try adding our From address to your Address Book, Contacts, Friends, or whatever your address book is called in your e-mail software. It can’t hurt, and in many cases, that’s enough to guarantee that you’ll get your The Weeding Gnome.

Next, you can contact the customer service people at your e-mail provider. Explain to them that this is a subscription you signed up for (or paid for, if that’s the case) and ask them if they can white-list the sender. They’ll probably ask you to send them a copy of your most recent e-mail from us, so have it handy.

If they refuse, or for some reason you still aren’t reliably getting your The Weeding Gnome, consider signing up for a free e-mail address at one of the web-based e-mail services listed here as allowing you to whitelist an address and checking your e-mail online. You can then switch your The Weeding Gnome subscription to that address.
