Stokesia Lime Pop
Super large, highly visible, brightly colored blooms with bright yellow leaves
You want bright color in your midsummer garden? We've got color! Lime Pop is a brand new selection from Saul's Nursery in Georgia. Lime Pop was found as a sport of 'Peachie's Pick'. It has the same upright habit and large, periwinkle blue flowers as Peachie's Pick, but when it emerges in the spring, you will be surprised by the intensely yellow leaves. As the plant matures each year and the flowers develop, the foliage stays yellow and is complemented by the bright yellow phyllaries (the thistle-like bracts that surround the flower buds and then cradle the flowers once they are open). The combination is nothing short of stunning.
Super floriferous, tolerant of poor, drought-ridden soils, and native to much of the eastern half of the United States, this mid-sized perennial is a pollinator favorite, and with new and improved selections and fascinating color combinations like Lime Pop, it is destined to be a garden staple.
