Magnolia Marilyn’s Choice™

An upright blooming machine!

A favorite among the many Chinese Magnolia species, Magnolia cylindrica is found in open forests and slopes in its native habitat. Admired for its tight, columnar form, Marilyn’s Choice is suitable for a wide variety of residential and commercial spaces. Before leaves appear in spring, 3”, creamy white flowers with bursts of rose-pink at their base, bloom along every stem in profusion. Flowers are followed by four-inch-long cylindrical fruits that mature to bright red as they split open to reveal red seeds in the fall. Dark green leaves, with hints of fuzzy bronze pubescence on the undersides, turn to yellow with the cooler nights of autumn.

An all around nearly perfect variety, Marilyn’s Choice can be planted in gardens from zones 5-9.
