This new selection packs a punch

Phlox paniculata Party Punch

Are the flowers pink or opange? Well, it depends on the light and the time of day, but these beautifully colored, perfectly rounded flowers are held atop healthy, mildew free leaves on a compact plant.

Packs a punch with its numerous, brightly colored blooms and amazing disease resistance. It is with pleasure and pride that I offer you this fantastic new selection from nurseryman Dick Maas of Handelskwekerij Maas & van Stein in Hilegom, The Netherlands. Dick is a true plantsman. He often spends his vacations exploring the wilds of Europe, searching for unusual plants. This new selection is a sport of unknown origin that appeared in his fields in Hilegom. I first received this plant as a bare root sample in 2006 and it was labeled Phlox “Careful”… as in be careful not to let anyone else have this! Even the first year, I was impressed with its flower power, compact size super clean foliage. The summers of 2007 and 2008 brought awful drought to Baltimore. I thought for sure it would get some mildew, but I saw no signs of infection.

Each bloom is unique with its almost fluorescent pinkish-orange color and thin veil of pure white lace. The color reminds me of a bowl of punch. From afar, the petals appear to be solid pinkish-orange, but look closely and you will see the dainty white veil overlay. Light green foliage is the perfect foil for the brightly colored blooms. This unusually colored, perfectly sized, disease resistant phlox will not disappoint.

Please note: We don't sell plants. Asking your local retailer or googling the plant name is the easiest way to find someone selling our plants.
